Soulful Sweets by Rafael

When Rafael Heredia-Spratling made the leap from hobbyist baker to small-business owner he knew he had to tell his story to potential customers he needed imagery as high quality as his family recipes. We helped Rafael select an ideal recording location and review the message he wanted to convey, then got down to business with cameras and cookies in the kitchen.

One of the most challenging parts of telling a business owner’s story is helping them bring across the authentic human emotions that inspire them to their work – but that’s where Glowing Moon accels. We know how to keep the recording process light and playful, because you’re most yourself when you feel at ease. Rafael was able to express the love and warmth that he felt while baking, which he hopes his customers will feel when they hear his story and try his treats.

What was the strategic value of this content?

  1. Rafael’s website had some basic content, but needed high quality visuals to show the inventory of menu items for sale. It also needed video content to engage visitors in a dynamic way other than greeting them with a wall of text. This helped to bring across his fun personality as well as his story.

  2. Each year Rafael offers seasonal samplers to local businesses, and wanted a video introduction to send along with the box of treats. Since this would be the first impression he would be making on these potential new customers, he needed the video to feel professional, succinct, and enticing.


  3. Since Rafael makes all products himself, it was important to show his skills in action. Visuals of him hand-preparing each of the cakes, cobblers, and brownies provided the authentic, downhome feeling at the heart of his business.
